It was a success
It was our Asian Pacific Month Luncheon today. This is the first time that Target has given us Asians a month to celebrate. Besides Aldrin ( who did not help me
) it was only Sheena our HR who cooked the food. I gave her the recipes weeks ago but she forgot to give it away. Unfortunately, she was not able to join us today because they have to fly to Florida on a vacation. It was a success anyway. My first experiment was making the Bistek. I ended up making it last minute last night because we closed and didn't get home until 11:00 p.m. I was so scared that I won't make it right. I went to bed around 2:00 a.m. I also made some fruit salad which turned out to be really good. Sheena made Embutido. A recipe that I copied from Lanie. Although Sheena's embutido didn't look right but it tasted right. Everybody even asked for it's recipe. The best compliment I ever had was from Kelly. She told me that my bistek tasted really good and she ate a lot even if she never like eating beef. They also liked my fruit salad. Henry approached me and said" I thought you don't know how to cook Merydith" and I said, " I just learned it last night Henry because I didn't have any choice". I officially know how to cook something atleast.

We had pancit, barbeque-Pinoy style, Lumpia-Shanghai, sweet and sour chicken, rice, embutido and fruit salad for dessert.

Seating: Florence, me, Barb, Valerie
Standing: Jill (I call her Jelly Beans) and Misty

Yesterday too we went to get some ingredients that I need for the fruit salad. I found these cheap mangoes for only 89 cents at the Filipino store. I bought 4 and they are all sooooo yummy. Just look how ripe they are. I ate the fourth one before I could even take a picture.
